Around 5-6 years ago, when I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts professor suggested that someone from our group could go with the representation of the Department of Jewellery Design to the international jewelery fair in Munich. I thought it would be fun, because I've never seen up close such an event. A few of us booked cheap airline tickets, and a room in the hostel. And so I went there.
For a few days, I felt hypnotized. I went between the halls, expositions, exhibitions. This was the first time I saw so many great projects from around the world in one place. It was, as for the fashion enthusiast, all Fashion Weeks together! Or for automotive fan - fair of the best and latest cars in the world with a personal meeting with the Top Gear crew.
Did I feel inspired? No! I felt amazed, delighted to the limit! Everything I saw was spinning in my head, changing my previous idea of jewelry, a good (great!) design. The border crossing a traditional concept of jewellery.
I spoke with independent designers from all over the world, but also with representatives of the largest corporations in the world of jewelery. I could see closely so many unique, experimental designs, but also ones worth hundreds of thousands of euros.
I was returning from Munich with a bag full of business cards and a head full of chaos, but also one huge dream - I would like, once, to stand there between these designers. In this unique Hall C2, which theme is "Contemporary design and vision."
In a few days, on Thursday, I have a plane to Munich. On my the desk there are "Exhibitor passes" to the hall C2 and a plan of the hall with a green circle marked.
I have no words.
Please keep your fingers crossed :)
